Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account, accessing, or using ContentRights, you agree to these Terms of Service and any policies that are expressly incorporated into them.
If you do not agree to these terms, you should not access or use ContentRights services.
ContentRights Services
ContentRights is designed to provide tools that help users register content, organize rights information, manage licensing activity, monitor supported sources for potential uses of registered content, receive alerts, and review related account activity.
Specific features may depend on technical integrations, third-party services, geographic availability, account eligibility, or service configuration.
Account Responsibilities
Users are responsible for maintaining accurate account information and protecting account credentials from unauthorized access.
You are responsible for activity performed through your account unless applicable law provides otherwise.
You must notify ContentRights if you reasonably believe that your account or credentials have been compromised.
Ownership of Registered Content
ContentRights does not obtain ownership of a user's copyrighted work merely because the work or information about the work is submitted to ContentRights.
Users retain the rights they hold in their original content, subject to licenses, agreements, assignments, or other legal obligations that may already apply to that content.
By submitting content or related information, you represent that you have the authority necessary to submit and manage that material through the service.
Rights Information
Users are responsible for the accuracy of ownership, licensing, copyright, permission, and other rights information they enter into ContentRights.
ContentRights tools are intended to assist with rights management and record organization. Registration or storage within ContentRights does not by itself create copyright ownership or replace any registration that may be available through a government copyright authority.
Monitoring and Detection
Monitoring features may help identify potential uses or matches involving registered content. Monitoring results should be reviewed before conclusions are made regarding ownership, authorization, infringement, or enforcement.
ContentRights does not guarantee that monitoring technology will locate every use of content or that every detected match represents unauthorized use.
Licensing
ContentRights may provide tools for creating, organizing, reviewing, or managing licensing information.
Users are responsible for reviewing the terms of licenses they create or accept and for ensuring that they possess the legal authority required to license the applicable content.
A license may be subject to additional contractual terms between the applicable rights holder and licensee.
Earnings and Payments
If payment, royalty, settlement, or earnings features are made available, amounts displayed through ContentRights will be based on actual transaction information received by the applicable ContentRights payment or licensing systems.
Payment availability, processing periods, fees, taxes, minimum payout requirements, verification requirements, refunds, chargebacks, and other financial conditions may depend on the applicable transaction and payment provider.
Users remain responsible for taxes or reporting obligations that apply to their earnings unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Prohibited Use
ContentRights may not be used to:
- Register content or rights that you knowingly do not own or have authority to manage.
- Submit fraudulent ownership or licensing claims.
- Impersonate another person or organization.
- Interfere with the security or operation of the service.
- Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, data, or infrastructure.
- Use ContentRights for unlawful, deceptive, abusive, or fraudulent activity.
Copyright Disputes
Ownership and copyright disputes can involve facts and legal rights that cannot be determined solely by automated technology.
ContentRights may request supporting information when a dispute, conflicting claim, or copyright complaint is submitted.
Additional copyright procedures are described on the ContentRights Copyright page.
Intellectual Property
The ContentRights name, branding, interface, software, graphics, service design, and other ContentRights-owned materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
These Terms do not grant users ownership of ContentRights software, trademarks, branding, or proprietary technology.
Third-Party Services
Some ContentRights functionality may rely on or interact with third-party platforms, payment processors, hosting providers, monitoring systems, communications providers, or other external services.
Third-party services may operate under their own terms, privacy policies, availability requirements, and technical limitations.
Service Availability
ContentRights may modify, maintain, update, improve, or temporarily suspend portions of the service when reasonably necessary for security, maintenance, legal compliance, technical operation, or product development.
Continuous or uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed.
Suspension or Termination
Access may be limited or suspended when reasonably necessary to protect users, ContentRights, third parties, or the integrity and security of the service.
ContentRights may also take action when an account materially violates these Terms or applicable law.
No Legal Advice
ContentRights provides technology and rights-management tools. Information made available through the service is not a substitute for advice from a qualified attorney.
Users should obtain independent legal advice when they need guidance concerning copyright ownership, licensing, infringement, disputes, enforcement, contracts, or other legal matters.
Disclaimer
To the extent permitted by applicable law, ContentRights services are provided on an "as available" basis. No technology can guarantee detection of every unauthorized use, prevention of every infringement, or recovery of every payment or loss.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, ContentRights will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising solely from use of or inability to use the service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
Changes to These Terms
ContentRights may update these Terms as services, laws, security requirements, or business operations change.
When material changes are made, the effective date displayed on this page will be updated and additional notice may be provided when required by law.
